Martin Schleske is a celebrated luthier and the author of The Sound of Life's Unspeakable Beauty. He has a passion for the craft of instrument design and the science of acoustical research and has been described as "one of the most important living violinmakers" by Strad magazine. Janet Gesme has taught German and music at the college level and played viola and cello professionally. She plays Martin Schleske's "Schorschi" viola and is the translator of his award-winning book The Sound of Life's Unspeakable Beauty.
