Jasper Starfield is a preschool teacher from Edinburgh, known for his imaginative teaching style. He often turned his room into a classroom, teaching his stuffed animals about the universe. As an adult, Jasper is now known for his kindness, patience, and boundless curiosity. With wild hair and a wardrobe of colorful vests and bow ties, he is a joyful and enthusiastic presence. As a teacher, Jasper's classroom is just as magical as his childhood bedroom was. There are vibrant posters, curious artifacts, and the scent of freshly baked cookies. He uses puppets to explain science and sings math songs with a ukulele!Inspiration comes from many places for Jasper. From his daily interactions with his students and noticing the unique way they connect with the world. His imagination sparks when enjoying nature walks around Edinburgh's lush parks and historic sites. He can always draw from his own childhood and the experiences he enjoyed growing up. And then, for this book, his main inspiration was his beloved plush toy, Laboo. There are other interests in Jasper's life than inspiring young minds to be curious. He also enjoys hiking, nature exploration, rock climbing, gardening, traveling, and astronomy.Jasper wants, above all, for his educational books to make learning fun for children.
