Katherine Taken Smith. Dr. Katherine T. Smith has served on the faculties at the University of Mississippi and Louisiana Tech University. Currently she serves on the editorial boards of five national journals. Lawrence C. Smith, Jr. Lawrence C. Smith, Jr., PhD is a Professor of Economics at Louisiana Tech University. He received his doctorate from the University of Mississippi. He has developed expertise on a wide variety of business and economics issues. In his distinguished career, Dr. Smith has made significant academic contributions in teaching, research, and service. He has played many roles in various professional organizations, including serving 27 years as Secretary-Treasurer of the Academy of Economics and Finance. In 1999 he was selected as the first Fellow of the Academy of Economics and Finance. Dr. Smith's accomplishments include numerous professional journal articles, books, and professional meeting presentations.
